Mylos Beach

One of the most beautiful on the island, tucked between Agios Nikitas and Kathisma and reachable only on foot or by boat. A taxi boat runs from Agios Nikitas (every 15 to 20 minutes or so in high season, a few euros each way, a five-minute crossing), or you take the path that climbs behind the village and then drops down: around twenty demanding minutes, steep and partly stepped, best done in good shoes and not in the hottest hours. Services on the beach are minimal, so bring water and shade; the water deepens quickly and it's often windy. With wind or rough sea the taxi boats don't run, and the path on foot is the only way in.
