Arriving by road
Driving to Lefkada from the Greek mainland via the floating bridge.
Reaching Lefkada by car is simple: there is no ferry to the island itself, you just drive across the floating bridge at Aktio. From Athens take the motorway west; from Igoumenitsa or Patras you are already on the mainland and head for Preveza. The last stretch is the bridge, after which you are on the island. In high summer expect short queues around the bridge openings.
