Flights

The fastest way in. Preveza (PVK) is the closest airport, about 20 km from the bridge; Athens and Thessaloniki have more year-round flights but a much longer drive afterwards.

Coming from Italy by sea. Ferries land at the mainland ports of Igoumenitsa (closest to Lefkada) and Patras, and you continue by road. Within the Ionian, a small seasonal ferry links Vasiliki to Kefalonia.

By car & the floating bridge

Lefkada is the only Ionian island you can drive to. Whatever route you take, you reach it across the floating bridge at Aktio, which opens on the hour for boats and can queue in high summer.
