Tsoukalades
Green plateau in the northwest, close to town: a convenient, quiet base for the west coast beaches.
Tsoukalades is a traditional village set on a green plateau on the northwest coast, with open views over the Ionian Sea. It sits just 5-7 km from both Lefkada Town and Agios Nikitas, which makes it a very convenient base for easily reaching the finest west coast beaches (Pefkoulia, Kathisma and beyond) while staying away from the crowds. Although it has no sea in the village itself, it has all the useful holiday services: tavernas, supermarkets, a bakery, a pharmacy and an ATM, with free parking along the main road. The road through it is wide and easy, far less winding than the far-west villages, and evenings are cool thanks to the altitude.
