Sivota

Sivota

Southern fishing village on a sheltered bay: a harbour of tavernas, calm and good food.

Sivota is a small fishing village tucked at the head of a well protected natural bay, ringed by green hills, in the south of the island. It is a quiet, much loved spot for those after an authentic feel and good food: the harbour is a line of fish tavernas facing the water, with moored boats and calm seas. Though small, it has the essentials, supermarket, bakery and pharmacy, and works well as a relaxed base for exploring the south. The best beaches (such as Afteli) are a short drive away, and a car is more or less essential here: the road reaches the harbour but parking is limited, so arrive early.
