A panoramic bar high on the mountain above Agios Nikitas, famous for a 360-degree view and one of the island's best sunsets, often with live music. Relaxed vibe and a welcoming owner. You get there by car: the road is very steep, so take care with your vehicle. There's often a minimum spend.

Restaurant/tavern. On Lefkada town's main street — a great choice for solid Greek cooking at fair prices, usually surrounded by locals.

Gourmet restaurant and cocktail bar. A stunning venue with breathtaking views, especially popular at sunset. The bar and restaurant sides are separate: at the bar, no reservation needed but hard to get a spot after 7:30 pm — try to arrive by 7. For the restaurant, online booking is required and you pay according to table position; you can order up to that amount, with extra if you go over.

A relaxed beachfront taverna at Nikiana, right by a quiet little bay, serving fresh Greek dishes, seafood and handmade pasta (gluten-free options available). The setting is the draw: tables by the water, easy all-day service and cocktails into the late evening. A favourite for a long lunch after the beach. Portions and prices sit at the higher end for the area. Opening hours may vary by season.

A small mezedopolio popular with locals, ideal for a dinner of small plates to share. Specialities like baked feta and fried squid, with a calm atmosphere for conversation. Open evenings only and quick to fill.

Snack bar by day — cocktail/wine bar by evening. A lovely seaside bar attached to a hotel: smoothies, coffee and simple lunches (burgers, salads). In the evening, total tranquillity by the water with a glass of wine or anything you fancy. The small beach area is mostly for hotel guests but ask at the bar for availability.

A much loved taverna on a quiet street in the centre, steps from the marina. Traditional Greek cooking with fresh fish, mezedes and well made classics, friendly service and tables looking onto the boats. Often full in the evening, so come early or book.

A well liked Agios Nikitas taverna, known for big portions and complimentary extras from the kitchen. Simple, tasty Greek cooking and a warm welcome. Service can slow when full, but it is worth the wait.

Beachfront tavern. Just before the entrance to Nydri's northern pedestrian street, a sign on the sea side points to this short road leading to a relaxed seaside taverna: simple style, fair prices, plenty of Greek specialties.

One of the best regarded addresses on the Nydri waterfront, with careful Greek cooking and generous portions, from seafood to classics like moussaka and stifado. Attentive service and a pleasant setting on the promenade. Very busy in high season.

A refined restaurant opened in 2025 in Sivota, set back from the seafront for a more private dinner. Creative, balanced plates with some Asian touches, a good wine list and soft music. One of the most interesting options in the village.

A clifftop cafe-belvedere between Egremni and Porto Katsiki, famous for its sheer view over the Ionian Sea: one of the most spectacular sights on the island, perfect for a stop on the way back from the beaches, ideally at sunset. Canteen-style food (sandwiches, snacks, fresh juices) and a casual feel, with parking across the road (mind the cars). Very windy and busy around midday, so come early or late afternoon.

A refined seaside dinner address in Ligia, with creative chef driven cooking and fresh produce, seafood to the fore. A broad wine list, polished service and tables over the water. Made for special evenings, booking advised.

Beach bar/pool. One of the island's trendiest spots: a large beach club with sun-bed service, a pool and plenty of comfy spots to enjoy the view. Snack bar, cocktails, coffee — everything you need by the sea.

Sunset bar/snack bar. A highly sought-after spot for its beautiful sunsets. We recommend arriving at least an hour before sunset to grab a good seat and park with ease.

A short drive from Nydri in Geni — right by the sea. Beautiful views over Vlicho Bay, a wide selection of fresh fish and traditional Greek dishes. The atmosphere is evocative and relaxed, perfect for a pleasant dinner with a view.

A tiny taverna in the village of Kolyvata, where you dine almost in Maria's own home, with home cooking and a mountain view. A simple daily menu, huge portions and a rare calm. The drive through the olive groves is worth the trip alone.

Gourmet/fusion cuisine. Excellent value for money given the food and service. Located right on Kathisma beach with the sweeping view shared with guests.

Gyros fast-food and BBQ meat. Marino and Isabella are waiting to serve you what is — in our opinion — the best Gyros on the island, plus other classic grilled and barbecued meat dishes.

A traditional family taverna in Kontarena, on the road between Sivota and Vasiliki, set under the shade of an old plane tree. Home-style Greek cooking and local Lefkadian dishes made with regional produce, generous portions and a genuine village atmosphere. Good value — well worth the short detour inland.

A beach bar on the Agios Ioannis windmills beach, one of the best spots near town for a sunset with the sound of the waves and a glass of fairly priced white wine. A calm, authentic vibe with a view of the old mill, sunbeds and a shower, and a good base for kitesurfing or a swim too. Friendly, family-run service.

A polished restaurant in Vasiliki, one street back from the seafront. Mediterranean cooking with wood-fired pizza, pasta, meat and fresh fish, served in a cosy, leafy patio whose canopy opens to the night sky. Calm atmosphere and attentive service — great for a special dinner. Often busy, so booking is recommended.

Meat. Spit-roasted and grilled meat for every taste, from lamb to kotosouvli, frigadeli and kokoretsi. Close to Nydri. Aim to arrive by 8 pm to get a table.

A relaxed spot in Karya with an indoor side and open seating under the pines. Known for its burgers, grilled meat and excellent house roasted specialty coffee. A laid back feel and genuine hospitality.

Greek and other cuisine. The main draw is the view and the sunset. Reservations are made on-site only by leaving your name and waiting at the bar next door (Fly Me) — they'll call you when your table is ready. Alternatively, enjoy the sunset right from the bar — the view is just as spectacular.

Tucked into a small street in Lefkada town, this is a unique experience for fish lovers: pick your seafood directly from the attached fishmonger and have it cooked on the spot. The setting is simple but the quality of fish and the fair prices more than make up for it.
